The Build (Responsibilities)
- Direct and oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure on-time delivery, adherence to quality standards, and achievement of cost objectives.
- Translate strategic goals into operational plans, driving execution across shifts and departments.
- Lead the implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and sustain a culture of continuous improvement.
- Foster innovation in manufacturing processes to support business growth and competitiveness.
- Promote a zero-incident safety culture by enforcing OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Ensure a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace.
- Inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of supervisors, technicians, and production associates.
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous professional development.
- Partner closely with the Quality team to uphold and enhance product standards, minimizing defects and rework while driving customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and other key functions to ensure seamless operations and project execution.
- Participate in strategic planning and problem-solving activities across departments.
- Collaborate with Supervisors, the Union Committee, and Human Resources to foster a positive employee experience and maintain strong labor relations.
- Lead by example in upholding company values and promoting a respectful, inclusive workplace.
The Toolbox (Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma tools, and operational excellence frameworks (e.g., value stream mapping, Kaizen events, 5S).
- Demonstrated success in improving manufacturing KPIs, optimizing processes, and delivering measurable business results.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to inspire and influence diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Solid financial acumen, including experience managing budgets and controlling manufacturing costs.
- In-depth knowledge of machining processes, manufacturing technology, and production systems.
- Experience leading in a unionized environment is required.
